Toronto teen faces 168 credit card fraud charges

Orangeville Police have arrested and charged an 18-year-old Toronto man with 168 criminal offences after he purchased more than $60,000 worth of tires from a local business using stolen credit card information.

In a press release, the Orangeville Police Service said that between last December 3 and 20, the accused “placed a number of telephone orders to the Orangeville business claiming to be from an automotive business in Toronto. The male took delivery of more that 600 tires. It wasn’t until December 23 that the Orangeville business was notified that the transactions were declined because the credit card information had been stolen by the accused.”

Last Friday April 8, Toronto Police assisted the Orangeville officers in locating and arresting the accused, who was charged with 56 counts each of fraudulent use of a credit card, fraud and possession of property obtained by crime.
