Children’s workshops at Dufferin County Museum

The Dufferin County Museum & Archives will present a series of children’s workshops throughout the run of its Stitches across Time Exhibit.

Stitches across Time, a juried fibre art show will be on display at the museum until August 21. Visitors will discover what contemporary textile and fibre artists create when they look to textile artifacts from the late 19th and early 20th centuries for inspiration.

The museum hopes that by using beautifully made artifacts from the museum’s collection as the jumping off point people will come to see present day hand-crafted textiles in a whole new light.

This show is an art show where creativity, technique, colour, and design combine in ways that reflect the workmanship and design sensitivity of 19th century women at the same time as they illustrate a 21st century sensitivity to art, design, and materials.
