Novice AE Flyers take off in playoff action

Orangeville’s Novice AE Flyers defeated their first three opponents in away games in Owen Sound, Caledon and Burlington.

After setting back the Owen Sound Attack 9-1 earlier, Orangeville traveled to neighboring Caledon determined to maintain a winning momentum.

The Flyers were able to lead the Hawks by the end of the first with Colten Young scoring the first of the night for Orangeville, assisted by Ryan Hussey.

Teaming up with Evelyn Jones and Jake Deckers, Owen Kelly dove across the front of Caledon’s net to squeak in the second of the frame for Orangeville ending the frame 2-1.

The second period saw Orangeville’s Jack Fitzpatrick score first with some help from Colten Young and Jordan Sheppard.

Connor Pearce was solid in net, preventing the Hawks from notching anymore.

The third opened with O’Mara on a breakaway scoring another for Orangeville. Ethan Meeker ended the game 5-2 just a few moments later notching one more with help from teammates, Deckers and Cody Jackson.

The Burlington Eagles were next to be disappointed by Orangeville 4-1 on Monday January 23, despite many attempts on Flyers’ goalie Jakob Hooper.

Flyers’ Robbie Secenj Williams flew out the gate to score the first two goals of the night – assisted by Kurtis Dunford, Fitzpatrick and O’- Mara.

Although the Eagles narrowed the gap by one in the second, Deckers notched an insurance marker just before the end of the frame - assisted by Owen Kelly and Adam Johnston. Flyers’ O’Mara then went end to end to finish the game 4-1.
