It was a decisive over the Warriors who are the league's defending champions and eliminated Orangeville last season in the final.

This year the Northmen had the edge from the start winning the two opening games before taking an 8-6 loss in game three of the series.

The Northmen returned for a 5-4 win on July 29.

Back in Whitby for game five, the Northmen were leading 6-3 at the end of the first period.

They opened that lead in the third scoring three in just over two minutes to have a 9-3 lead going into the midway mark in the final twenty minutes.

The Warriors pulled out all the stops in a final attempt to get back in the game including putting an extra attacker on the floor which netted them a pair of goals late in the game, but not enough to tie it up and keep alive.

The Northmen won the final game 9-7. Orangeville will now face the Six Nations Arrows in the final. The Arrows ended the regular season in first place with 17 wins over 20 games.

The Northmen were right behind in third place in the league standings with 32 points and 16 wins over the regular season.

The final series will get underway tonight, (Thursday, August 2) at Six Nations.

The game is scheduled for 8:00 p.m.
